Security and Safety in the “Metaverse” Special Issue – call for papers

We are pleased to inform you that Security and Safety is accepting submissions for its Special Issue on “Security and Safety in the “Metaverse””. The term “Metaverse” was first used in the science fiction novel “Snow Crash” in 1992 and describes “a virtual world parallel to the real world”. Thirty years later, and especially since 2021, the “Metaverse” is more popular than ever and considers various information technologies such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and communication networks.

The guest editors are:

Shiya LIU - Northwestern Polytechnical University

Research interests: technology integration innovation and industry application in the field of Electronic Information Communication such as VR/AR, AI, MEMS and Network Communication.

Yangyu FAN - Northwestern Polytechnical University

Research interests: signal and information processing, image processing, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence.

Hong ZOU - Fudan University

Research interests: cybersecurity, centering around academic discipline development, policy research and public awareness.

Xing ZHAO - Fudan University

Research interests: information resource management, science and technology evaluation and intelligent evaluation, intelligent society and intelligent governance, as well as metaverse and digital economy.

Chunhui WANG - Zhejiang University

Research interests: information communication and digital economy strategy and law.

Article Processing Charges - S&S is an Open Access journal without any submission fees or APCs in 2022.
